Plextor, one of the leading companies for the development and production of CD-ROM drives, CD-Recorders, CD-ReWriters and media is expanding its range with the PlexWriter Premium, which writes CD's at 52-speed, rewrites at 32-speed and reads at 52-speed. The PlexWriter Premium is the ideal instrument for both professional and private users who want to copy CD's, archive large files, or create multimedia productions. There are two products under the name - an internal E-IDE and external USB2.0 52x CD-RW drive (PlexWriter Premium and PlexWriter Premium-U).
Each drive includes a large 8MB buffer with an access time of less than 65 ms. Additionally they are Mount Rainier ready and support 99 minute discs.
Each drive includes a number of important features:
GigaRec - new and unique to Plextor - enables recording of up to 1.2 GB of data on standard CDs, using 99 minute media
SecuRec - new and unique to Plextor - secures the data with password protection. The disc can only be accessed with the correct password
Silent Mode - new and unique to Plextor - enables user-configuration of the drive - changes the access time, reading speed, writing speed and tray eject time to enable silent operation and longer durability of the drive
Q-check - new and unique to Plextor - an extensive testing system to ensure high quality burning through a C1/C2 error test, FE/TE test and Beta/Jitter test
Buffer Under-run Proof - prevents buffer under-run errors
PoweRec - ensures best quality recording
VariRec - make audio CD's with a personal touch
The drive can be purchased this May for a recommended retail price of ?119 (ex. VAT) for the internal drive and ?199 (ex. VAT) for the external drive.
