Помогите с настройкой принтера...
 
Хотелось бы обратиться к знающим людям, возожно сталкивались с такой проблемой.
У меня принтер CANON i250 на USB, скачал драйвер, поставил. CUPS принтер видит, и система видит и определяет, и не только при загрузке. Устанавливаю его, никаких ошибок, но печатать отказывается наотрез...
команда #lpq выдаёт:
СANON is ready //CANON - это имя принтера
no entries
Если можете помочь, помогите... Очень хочется таки поднять его под Линуксом...

Что не так ?
В самой системе дров на LJ1020 нет, так что я выбирал дрова от 1015, как наиболее близкое число...или это неверный путь ?

Также там есть описание как настраивать, в т.ч. и в CUPS.

При распаковке архива foo2zjs-20060324-i486-2gds.tgz образуются папки /etc,/install,/usr - что делать с их содержимым?

Судя по тому что пишется на консоли(см. файл raspakovka_foo2zjs.txt) при разархивировании есть файл usr/share/cups/model/HP-LaserJet_1020.ppd, но тогда зачем скачивать такой же (аналогичный?) файл с http://www.linuxprinting.org/ppd-o-m...et_1020&show=0

Почему при запуске doinst.sh ничего не происходит? Или все таки происходит? Кроме появления пары файлов @hplj1005,@hplj1020 в папке /etc/hotplug/usb я ничего не заметил(визуально;))...

For Redhat 7.2/7.3/8.0/9.0 and Fedora Core 1/2/3/4 users:

For a networked Minolta/QMS 2300 DL, I used a Redhat "Queue Type" of "Unix Printer (LPD)", and set the "Server" to the IP address of the printer, and the "Queue" to "lp". For Ubuntu, I used "HP JetDirect" and set "Host:" to the IP address of the printer and "Port:" to 9100.

For low level testing, you can also create a "raw queue", which will accept ZjStream files as-is and send them directly to the printer.
Вобщем-то процесс стандартный, собрать, установить. Вы не сказали даже какой дистр, а там кстати имеются и специфичные для дистров описания настроек, вот, к примеру, описание с картинками настройки данного принтера под шапкой.

Как это не видно??? Специально из того хауту что привел сейчас скачал сорец - все там есть в комплекте, все нормально!

lpd вроде пользователь. На АльтЛинуксе на 12-й консоли к примеру видно что произходимт, когда поключаеш девайс. Я бы рекомендовал попробовать его ... тем более 1120 у меня пашет именно именно с принтсервера на "альте"/

Перепутал пакет слаки с тарболом по невнимательности;)

После того как мной была применена команда make hotplug-install принтер стал определяться системой, но не всегда, пользователь говорит, что через раз.Когда не определяется, чел вручную вводит cat /usr/share/foo2zjs/firmware/sihp1020.dl > /dev/usb/lp0. Как добится стабильности работы хотплага?
Не вызовет ли каких-либо конфликтов прописывание в rc.local(или в чем-то подобном) вышеприведенной команды? Предположим, и хотплаг сработает при загрузке и строчку система будет считывать - одно другому мешает? Каких эффектов ждать?
