Kingston 2x1GB HyperX PC3-13000 DDR3 Memory Review
" It's all about having the latest and greatest when it comes to our computer hardware, isn't it? If we don't have top of the line, or something even close, we feel antiquated. With the holiday season upon us, it's a great time to ask for that special computer component to make our systems that much better. What better gift than some of the newest DDR3 memory on the market from Kingston? The memory that I'm speaking of is the KHX130000D3LLK2/2G, which is a 2-Gbyte, 1625-MHz low-latency (CL7-7-7-20-1T @ 1.9V) DDR3 HyperX kit. The newer DDR3 memory runs at a lower voltage than the previous DDR2 memory, but also runs at a higher frequency. These new features allow the memory to keep up with the advancements in CPU and motherboard technology that are currently being released."

Patriot PVS32G1866LLK Viper Series PC3-15000 2GB
"Just over 3 weeks ago we were given the opportunity to taste the delights of Patriot's latest DDR3 kit. Rated at PC3-15000 speeds, the kit sounded like a performance junkie's dream come true. However, during the review we run into some issues with the kit that prevented us from even running at stock settings with any level of stability. Despite OC3D and Patriot's best efforts to find a resolution to this problem, it was eventually deemed that the kit may have been faulty.

Of course, even the tightest of quality control cannot prevent the occasional product slipping thought the net. So when Patriot asked if we'd be willing to give them another chance to prove that their top-of-the-range kit could still deliver the goods, we was more than willing to oblige.

So why start an entirely new review for the PC3-15000 kit? Well since the release of the original PDC32G1866LLK Patriot have made several cosmetic changes to the modules - including furnishing them with some very sexy finned heatspreaders and making a slight change to their part number (now PVS32G1866LLK). Of course, you'll have to excuse me if any parts of this review mirror that of the PDC32G1866LLK, but you can rest assured that the modules will be thoroughly re-tested and the newer results posted over the next few pages."
