win95 и error 10043 при ping

Помогите граждане, кто вспомнит:-)
В свое время (года 3-4 назад) у меня уже возникала сия проблема: после установки win95 на старый комп при попытке пинговать даже localhost вылетает ошибка 10043, что в общем то обозначает отсутствие настроенного TCP/IP
Тогда я перебрав кучу разных способов (включая удаление файлов *,386) я проблему решил и комп увидел сеть.
Теперь опять вернулась проблема с таким же компом и win95.
За давностью лет и склерозом я не помню что именно тогда помогло (может патч какой).
Вероятно проблема более чем стандартная и легко решаемая, но меня просто переклинило. Не браните строго и помогите.

Что характерно, поставил я вин95 на wmware - та же шняга -error 10043 :-(

SYMPTOMS
When you use the ping or winipcfg command, you may receive "Fatal exception" or "Fatal IP Error" error messages. Also, the ping command may return the following results: 
Pinging 125.50.25.5 with 32 bytes of data: 

PING: transmit failed, error code 10043.
PING: transmit failed, error code 10043.
PING: transmit failed, error code 10043.
PING: transmit failed, error code 10043. 

CAUSE
Error code 10043 indicates that the TCP/IP stack is not being initialized. This error can occur if you have TCP/IP files with a .386 extension in your Windows folder from the Microsoft Windows for Workgroups 32-bit TCP/IP stack.

NOTE: This can also occur if tcp/ip is not installed. 

RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, rename the following files in the Windows folder. Rename these files to have a different extension, such as an .old extension: 
Vdhcp.386
Vip.386
Vnbt.386
Vtcp.386
Vtdi.386 
NOTE: Do not delete these files if you are using America Online (AOL). Deleting these files could result in an inability to connect to AOL. 

MORE INFORMATION
TCP/IP files with a .386 extension are typically stored in the Windows\System folder. If these files are stored in the Windows folder, they are loaded before the Windows 95 or Windows 98 versions of the files in the Windows\System folder. 

The following files with a .386 extension are included with Microsoft TCP/IP for Windows 95 and are stored in the Windows\System folder:

Если не изменяет память, то кроме удаления-переименования вышеозначенных 5 файлов помогала переустановка протоколов tcp/ip

Алгоритм действий таков:
убиваем файлы
переустанавливаем протокол
все работает
