SuSE 8.2 отказывается работать на 100Mbps
 

Вот поменял на своем сегменте Hub 10Mbps на Switch 100Mbps.
Вся сеть перешла нормально работать на 100 а SuSE 8.2 отказывается, токо если дайош ей работать на 10Mbps то пашет нормально.
Может кто знает, где это дело подправить?

а что за сетевая карта ??
может опция media в ifconfig поможет
man ifconfig

Но чего то не помогает :(

проверь обжимку кабеля

Я и обжимку проверял и кабели менял - Гурништ
Работает только на 10Mbps

switch какой?
как настоен порт, в который включена SuSE, в каком режиме auto или жестко заданны параметры speed, duplex?

Linux recognizes the card but seems to run in the wrong mode (e.g. 10Mbit instead of 100Mbit) :
This can be solved with an appropriate entry in the options line mentioned above. With this line you can switch the driver to the desired mode (thereby switching off the autodetection of the driver). Here's an excerpt from Donald Beckers Homepage, which explains some details :

An example of loading the vortex module is
insmod 3c59x.o debug=1 options=0,,12
This sets the debug message level to minimal messages, sets the first card to
the 10baseT transceiver, the second to the EEPROM-set transceiver, and the
third card to operate in full-duplex mode using its 100baseTx transceiver.
(Note: card ordering is set by the PCI BIOS.)

Possible media type settings
0 10baseT, or use default setting.
1 10Mbps AUI
2 undefined (special case: 10baseT from the LILO prompt)
3 10base2 (BNC)
4 100base-TX
5 100base-FX
6 MII (always the correct transceiver type on the 3c905)

Всё сделал как написано.
Вписал options 3c59x options=12

Пишу mii-tool -v
получаю
10Mbit, half duplex, no link

решил прошить 3Com3C905C досовской утилиткой 3c90xcfg.exe:
a:\>3c90xcfg configure /auto:disabled
The 3c90x NIC , NIC number 1 was successfully configured.

a:\>3c90xcfg configure /fullduplex:enabled
!!!WARNING!!! '/fullduplex:enabled' is ignored because Auto Select has been enabled

The 3c90x NIC , NIC number 1 was successfully configured.

Всё сделал как написано.
Пишу mii-tool -v
всё равно получаю
10Mbit, half duplex, no link

может нужно прошивать с 3c905cfg.exe? но в сети не смог найти именно 3c905cfg.exe а только 3c90xcfg.exe

В чём загвоздка?
Кто поможет? :(

ок, давай по порядку:
1. Попробуй поменять сетевую карточку на любую другую стомегабитную. Результат?
2. Попробуй на порту каталиста поиграться с параметрами speed/duplex (100/duplex/auto). Результат?

1) Понятно что проблема в карте и поменяв её, проблемы не будет, просто очень хотелось бы именно её заставить работать.
2) С настроиками на порту каталиста игрался и даже постоянные параметры устанавливал, не помогает, а вот почему в firmware перевести карту на fullduplex не получается не пойму (смотри выше)
