Following on from the internationally acclaimed Balance 004 compiled
and mixed by Phil K (nominated for Best mix compilation in the
forthcoming Australian Dance Music Awards 2003), EQ introduce
UK based James Holden to the fold, which should further propel the
Balance series status as Australia's premier DJ mixed compilation.
James Holden, is a DJ/Producer with a large following the world-over.
This eclectic mix of house, techno, melodies, and ambient moments,
will definitely capture the attention and imagination of clubbers and
music connoisseurs alike. Balance 005 features tracks and remixes from
the likes of FC Kahuna, James Holden, Infusion, Carl A. Finlow, FortDax,
Zeta Reticula, Petter, Meta.83, Baby Ford & The Ifach Collective,
Luke Chable & more...
James Holden's reputation as a producer is first class. He has produced
consistently beautiful and futuristic tracks and equally stunning remixes,
which are always a mainstay of the major league dj?s sets, from Sasha,
Digweed and Warren to Tong, Oakenfold and Tiesto. His now-classic
"Horizons", the trance tune which first shot him to fame recently
featured in Mixmag's Top 100 dance records of all-time.
He's also had success with singles "One For You" and "Solstice", along
with various side projects (Ariane for Hope Recordings, Mainline for
Bedrock and Ogenki Clinic) . Other collaborations include the track
"Bloodlock" for Sasha's "Airdrawndagger" album, an ongoing project
with respected producers and good friends Brancaccio & Aisher. James
first mix cd "Fear Of A Silver Planet " gave him the chance to showcase
his unique sound & musical vision.
Melodic and driving, dubbed out and hypnotic, his sets take in techno
and deep trance along with his own tracks, special edits and remixes
put together in his studio and a good deal of sampler wizardry,
making his sets every bit as individual as the sound of his productions
