Вот цитата все с того же многоуважаемого и ничем не примечательного сайтика: The S.M.A.R.T attribute is a specific property of the disk being monitored. The attribute is referred to either by its number or its descriptive name. An attribute value is a positive, integral number, usually in the range from 1 to 100 (sometimes to 200 or 253). Maximum values are good, minimum values indicate that some component of the disk is about to fail. A specific threshold is assigned to each attribute. Once the value drops below this threshold, S.M.A.R.T considers the disk to be faulty. Some attributes are considered life-critical and others are merely "informative". A T.E.C. with an "informative" attribute does not necessarily mean a drive failure.

Еще, на том же сайте: S.M.A.R.T can only predict a gradual degradation of the disk. It cannot and it does not predict catastrophic events, including but not limited to head crashes, power spikes and so on. There is a general rule to follow when interpreting S.M.A.R.T results: if S.M.A.R.T reports a disk failure, it's time to immediately backup its data; if S.M.A.R.T reports the disk to be O.K., it's time to backup anyway.

Хм... да, и насчет 'через ТРИ недели уже, смарт начал орать о том что мы скоро сдохнем и нужно бэкапить инфу '... Это 'УМНИК' (можно, я SMART так назову, а? Никто не против? Ну и правильно=))) просто начал кричать, что больно уж часто комп выключалси с помощью кнопочки - та, которая впереди... Хотя не факт - могла быть и та, которая .. позади =))
В общем, Гексоген, тебе просто... 'повезло' с хардами. К тому же Барракудам доверять не стоит - вот я бы посмотрел, как АйБиЭм'овские харды - не дятлы - загнулися... А они и не загнулися, ибо проверено =))
