TweakTown informed us
they take a look at nVidia nForce 4 SLI Intel Edition. The article reveals what the Intel Pentium 4 version of the nForce 4 chipset offers, what its performance is like against the 925XE chipset from Intel and give you a general understanding of the new chipset which will help you decide if its worth while moving to the newest Intel player on the market or stick with old faithful. Here's an exerpt:
Looking from the performance side of things the nForce 4 performs extremely close to the 925XE with it just falling short in a lot of tests and that's when we placed the nForce 4 Intel Edition not only up against a full retail version of the 925XE but what we feel is the fastest 925XE motherboard available so nVidia really were going into a strong battle.
With all the new technology that nVidia have implemented into their memory controller, we found that it was slightly slower then the 925XE setup but without comparing the nForce 4 Intel Edition to another reference it's hard to say that it isn't an overall faster controller. Memory performance is something we will have a closer look at when we get our hands on a retail version of the nForce 4 Intel Edition as well as if we'll have more joy overclocking memory on the nVidia platform over the Intel chipset - which we suspect we might.
