Miranda IM v0.5.1 Test Build #1 Now Available

ChangeLog


This build is a bug fix build for the current stable release (0.5). It has been developed concurrently with 0.6. It contains mostly bug fixes to 0.5. If you are using a 0.6 development build you should already have most of these changes. However, this build does not contain any of the new features of 0.6 so it should be much more stable. Once this 0.5.1 branch has been tested and proved stable it will be released as a final build.

Here are the major changes in this build from 0.5:

* Cannot create new profile through startup dialog (under NT4/95)
* Crash reading language pack headers
* Options dialog didn’t activate if currently open when using the main menu item
* Profile selector didn’t show last modified time correctly
* db3x driver text was cut off in profile selector dialog
* AutoExec files were deleted after use instead of renaming
* Allow use of ‘#’ as the beginning character in a autoexec file
* Typo in about dialog
* AIM: Fixed login problems from previous login order change
* AIM: Fixed utf8 sending for aim clients

* ICQ: Added new session password API allowing plugins like Secure Login to work better
* ICQ: Fixed possible hang on exit
* ICQ: Fixed avatars were not working when server port set to 0
* ICQ: Made message parser more strict (fixes bug allowing stealth invisible client detection)
* ICQ: Fixed Popup’s unicode support cannot be used in ANSI mode even if available (caused empty Popups)
* ICQ: Fixes possible buffer overflow with contact status change
* ICQ: Fixed migration was not working at all (should not disconnect so often on server’s upgrading)
* ICQ: Fixed offline greeting cards were not processed properly
* ICQ: Fixed small protocol glitch with reverse peer-to-peer connection

LotusNotes node and change it to lotusnotes. This name is taken from plugin name (lotusnotes.dll not LotusNotes.dll)
2. Enter again all settings.

- Skinable buttons that can be placed on window margins. Such buttons can execute any action all that you should know - Name of service to perform such actions.
Thanks to the Ricardo Pescuma Modern Contact List can show to you: Avatars and Status Messages directly on buddy list. Also he implemented flexible row height engine.
And of cource Modern Contact List, as direct successor of Meta Multiwindow Contact List, has extended support of Metacontacts module by Scott Ellis aka sje. So you can expand/collapse and drag&drop manage you metacontacts.

It allows setting your nickname, avatar, status and status messages.

To get better status messages suport, use NAS or SimpleAway (the core away system does not work very well with this plugin).

Most skins are using PNG files. You are need to have image decoder library http://shpynov.nm.ru/additional/imgdecoder.zip in you plugins folder to load they.

P.S. Skin customization is able ONLY by editing msf file in any notepad. In settings you can just download it. How to do it is described in http://shpynov.nm.ru/alpha/skinguide_eng.zip

Miranda IM v0.6 Test Build #12 Now Available

This build includes:
- major improvement: true Unicode CHAT.dll & chats in tabSRMM.dll. It means that using Unicode versions of MSN or Jabber protocol and the Unicode version of CHAT you can get: Unicode room names, users nicks, messages, status messages and room messages. Also you can use Unicode translations for ANSI protocols like IRC. Be aware: there were a lot of changes in chats, so you might have problems. Please report them at the build discussion forum. Backup your chat.dll and protocol dlls first, before overwriting the previous dlls, even considering that these chats work for me and another few people pretty good.
- major bugfix: 100% CPU eater was catched in the IcqOscarJ protocol and fixed by Joe.
- a lot of minor fixes for clist_modernb, ICQ, MSN & Jabber plugins.

UserInfoEx is an extended version of the built in contact info dialog for Miranda.
It completely replaces the existing one. It's larger to provide more room for creativity. In addition it gives you the opportunity to edit the details of each contact on your own. Whether an information is protocol based or user defined is shown by its colour.

Features
========
- The main task is to customize many contact information locally.
- You can export/import information to/from "ini" and "vcf"-files.
- Shows whether an information is customized or not by the text colour in the details dialog.
- The tree is fully customizable and lets you decide what name a property page has, if and where it is shown.
- You can change the treeview by drag&drop and the state are saved for each contact. Item names are saved in the global settings to save memory.
- All icons can be customized via icolib plugin.
- If the contact, the details dialog is opened for, is a MetaContact, all sub contacts are scanned for information to display.
- If the "Copy Data" option for MetaContacts and UserInfoEx's "Copy Data" is enabled, the whole UserInfo and mBirthday module is copied from the default sub contact to MetaContact. The missing fields are filled by the settings found in the other sub contacts. This will overwrite all changes made to the MetaContact's! Therefore it is recommended to disable these options!
- The built in reminder reminds you of a coming birthday or any other anniversary for each contact in your list by a popup and/or extra icon in the contact list. A sound can be played on a event. The reminder is fully configurable via the details dialog and there is no need to use other birthday plugins anymore.

Note: Source comes with Unicode version this time.

Брать исходники кода и компилировать может любой. И Фэйт один из тех, кто это делает. Но плагины, выложенные на его сайте, не являются официальными релизами самих разработчиков, поэтому имхо не стоит давать на них ссылки.

Очень даже стоит. К тому же откомпиленные фэйтом плаги не редко бывают менее глючными, т.к. он компилит по-моему в VS 2003, а она уж в свою очередь вылизана уже до блеска после выхода СП 1. Здесь еще играет роль то, как компилить... в динамике, статике...я в этом не особо рублю.
а еще в бэтках часто появляются фичи, очень необходимые, но в релизе они могут появиться не скоро.

Build 10 contains numerous changes, fixes and additions:

- main & protocol’s icons are now gotten from the Icon Library. Their settings were migrated from Options - Contact List - Icons to Options - Customize - Icons - Main icons/Status icons. So all Miranda’s icons are customizable now.

WARNING: installing build 10 will make your database incompatible with Miranda 0.6.x & previous builds of 0.7.x. Make a backup before upgrade if icon settings are important to you, and you plan to use this database with the previous builds.

- dbtool got an ability to be translated. A translation file is present in SVN. Also the true Unicode version of dbtool is available now: it can affect the localization and the ability to work with the file names in Unicode. Thanks starkwong for the original translation implementation.

- some bugs in clists & core were fixed.

Build 13 comes with the Scriver plugin by Piotr Piastucki, which had been being developed for 6 months, and now became the tabbed SRMM plugin with the built-in chat support. It’s much simplier and smaller than the tabSRMM plugin, but doesn’t (and never will) have all tabSRMM’s features.

Also:
- old nasty problem with menu settings was fixed: the settings names were translated, so the langpack presence could damage all settings. The future versions will have the special convertor for this case, right now you may rename the appropriate sections (MainMenu_Items, ContactMenu_Items, GroupMenu_Items etc) in the dbeditor.
- a lot of icon leaks were fixed in the core, also now all core icons got moved to IconLib and are, therefore, customizable;
- some fixes for MSN protocol.

при использовании миранды в разных сетях, приходится настройки подключения ковырять каждый раз - прокси/фигокси. нету ли какого способа облегчить этот поднадоевший порядком труд? кнопку сделать, заставить миранду хавать настройки прокси из ие или еще как? плагин какой может?
